Adventures in Jardim Botanico (Nov '10)

Our bairro (neighbourhood) takes its name from a royal garden found around the corner. Similar to Kew Gardens but the whole place is like the Kew hothouse, without the house...

It feels a bit like home because we can do some of the things that we used to enjoy in places like Bushy Park, such as...

...running wild

...and exploring

...spotting some local wildlife - "crunchy on the outside, smooth in the middle"

...collecting sticks and leaves (which also serve well as a horse)

...climbing trees and behaving like the locals

 

local primates that is...

...continuing to monkey around in the playground

 

...playing hide and seek

...like home from home (Is that you Belle and Bob?)

and yet more to be discovered...

Ipanema's hot hot hot (27th Nov '10)

Summer has started to arrive so we have to find new ways to cool down on the beach...

Now that feels better...



If you're very hot, a dunk in the sea always helps...



But you have to watch out for the waves...

If that doesn't work there is always ice-cream...

Or a cold beer  ;-)
