Feliz Natal na Rio de Janeiro (Dec´10)

We knew that we would definitely miss our lovely family and friends during this special time of year.....but we were determined to make the most of experiencing a hot, hot, hot Christmas, brazilian style!

The festivities began with a BG fancy dress party...

A great night was had sampling caiprinias in a range of flavours, dancing most of the night, along with of plenty of giggling...

Ho ho ho Merry Christmas!

Our views of the lagoon (Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas) was enhanced with a beautiful festive illumination...

Dinner by the lagoa proved to be a hit...with our table having a great view of the Christmas tree

During the month of December the generous Christmas gifts and cards arrived from the UK and continued to come... thank you x

A day trip to Petropolis with some friends´The Lemaires.´

Located in the mountains near Rio, Petropolis owes its creation to the Brazilian royal family. It was intended be used by the royals for their summer vacations, escaping the heat of the big city.

In this pretty cobbled town, taking a horse and cart ride is expected.

Wow look who´s popped into town....

Christmas really had come early, as our long awaited air shipment of christmas presents, christmas tree and decorations arrived 3 days before Christmas...happy days.

5.15am...Merry Christmas mummy and daddy! Think santa has made a visit.

Opening presents outside in sun, what a novelty. Santa has been very generous to the Webbers this year....Christmas in Rio!

Presents opened, breakfast eaten, turkey (Chester) in the oven, ummmmm think it´s time to...

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM RIO...

And a very happy New Year! xxxx
